The Job

The Senior / Principal Software Engineer will be involved in the design, coding, debugging and testing of human machine interface software for products using Object Oriented Design in C++ and Qt.

The Senior / Principal Software Engineer's work will be undertaken while working closely with hardware and software engineers to deliver specific project goals derived from product requirements.

Experience needed:

  • Ideally qualified to degree-level or equivalent experience in a Physics or Engineering based subject, such as; Electronics, Hardware, Computer Science, Software or Systems Engineering etc.
  • Proven technical experience in Software development in C++.
  • Solid understanding of software development life-cycles and processes.
  • Experience in Object Oriented Design and Programming experience, along with experience of embedded processors.
  • Windows GUI application development / Qt Development.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the Defence / Aerospace or safety regulated environment would be advantageous.
  • Appreciation of modern C++ programming techniques e.g. generic programming, design.
  • Experience in programming graphical components from scratch.
  • Experience in Python.
  • Test-driven development and / or Real-time data processing and visualisation.
  • Experience with database integration e.g. SQL.
