The Job

My Client is recruiting for a EICA Project Engineer in the Water Sector.

This role will involve working on Projects across key sectors - Water, Power and Energy, and Aggregates delivering diverse and interesting projects and programmes throughout UK infrastructure. The projects range in value from £5k to £10m taking the role of Principle Contractor and Principal Designer on schemes and also supporting Tier 1 contractor clients in a subcontractor and off-site manufacturing capacity.

The Role

  • Promote and demonstrate the company values when dealing with peers, staff, customer and clients
  • To work alongside Project Managers in assisting delivery of projects on behalf of the company
  • To project manage small scale projects, the value and complexity of which will be linked to experience and competence
  • Ensure that projects are delivered on time, on budget and incident free in line with the Project Management Handbook
  • Ensure that all Health and Safety legislation and regulations are adhered to and promote the positive health and wellbeing of the site teams on their allocated projects
  • Manage client expectations and foster positive working relationships to ensure the business' reputation is maintained
  • Provide appropriate and regular feedback to the Project Manager on project performance
  • Support project reviews and cascade and implement learning and best practice
  • Support Project Managers in the reporting to the business on project performance
  • Liaise closely with the site teams to contribute to the successful delivery of a project
  • To be an ambassador for the company and support the business goals for obtaining more work

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Industrial engineering experience - preferably water industry, MEICA
  • Proven experience in project delivery / senior site supervision
  • Experience in supervising and working on CDM sites
  • Experience in working under NEC contracts
  • Capable of effectively working on more than one project at any one time, depending on complexity
  • Capable of effectively coordinating teams, including employees and subcontractors
  • Understanding of project governance procedures and commercial aspects of projects
  • Experience in coordinating with clients and internal / external stakeholders
  • Sound knowledge of H&S legislation and regulations
  • CDM Awareness (ideally SSSTS or SMSTS)
  • CSCS card
  • Driving licence
