Introduction

Our client, a leading supplier of products to the Autmotive industry, are currently looking for an experience Vechile Technician/Fitter to join them on an initial 3-month contract based out of their site in Shoreham-by-Sea.

The Job

Key responsibilities:

We are looking for a confident and competent person with a background in the build and fitting of mechanical and electrical vehicle systems. Working closely with the other members of the team, your role will be to be part of the Special Vehicle Operations:

  • Work to instruction on the fitting of uplift components to production vehicles, they could include but not limited fitting electrical sub-assemblies, mechanical upgrades and hydraulic components.
  • Liaise with production engineers to continuously improve and escalate issues of small-scale production processes of niche components.


Required Experience and Qualifications:

You will hold good general electrical and mechanical fitting skills with practical experience, ideally of vehicle systems.

The following are essential requirements:

  • Experience of working on vehicles, plant or machinery.
  • Basic understanding of vehicle electrics, vehicle sub systems and assemblies.
  • Understand and adhere to strict health and safety guidelines.
  • Ability to integrate and work well within a small team.
  • Provide own tool kit and PPE. Specialist tools will be provided.


The following would also be advantageous:

  • Flexible work ethic and amenable to additional hours if required.
  • Basic metalworking skills and ability to use test workshop equipment (lathe, milling machine, pillar drill, welder etc.) without necessarily being an expert.


Working hours: Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:30.


This role has been deemed inside IR35, therefore only PAYE, Umbrella or Deemed Ltd contracts available at the following hourly rates:

  • PAYE: £14.00 (plus holiday pay)
  • UMB: £18.81
