Structural Analyst / FEA Engineer
Introduction
Our client, a leading supplier of services to the Automotive industry, are currently looking for an experienced FEA Engineer to join them on a contract based party out of their site in Shoreham-by-Sea.

The Job
The role is for a Structural Analyst focussed on finite element methods applied to a range of automotive and aerospace applications. Applications will include, but not be limited to, analysis of combustion and electric powertrain systems and components as well as transmission and vehicle structures.
You will carry out a range of analysis tasks which include but are not limited to:
- Thermal and structural analysis of internal combustion engine components as well as electric motors, printed circuit boards and vehicle body components.
- Multi body simulation of powertrain systems with aim to predict structural loads, displacements, velocities, and accelerations.
- Responsible for working closely with a design and development team to assess functionality and performance of the developed systems.
- Technical reporting; interpretation of results and suggestions for improvements.
Your skills will include:
- Degree in an Engineering or Science related discipline is preferred, however, other qualification will be considered depending on industry experience.
- A sound knowledge of continuum mechanics and structural analysis.
- Ability to communicate and to write and deliver presentations with a high degree of clarity to both internal project teams and clients.
- It would be beneficial, but not essential if you have some experience with a 3D FEA software (Abaqus and Hyperworks desirable).
This role will initially be working onsite at Shoreham for 3-4 days a week whilst training. Once trained, more flexibility to work remotely can be accommodated (for example to 1-2 days onsite per week).
