What you will be doing....

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will lead an engineering team following the EMEA New Product Development Process to introduce new products that meet customer expectations for performance and reliability and requirements for quality, schedule, product cost and project budget targets. The Senior Project Engineer will introduce complicated electro-mechanical assembled products into production using a disciplined product introduction process. You will participate on cross functional teams and will possess an understanding of the engineering inputs and deliverable that are required to complete the introduction of new products into a manufacturing environment.

Primary responsibilities

  • You will work within the Engineering Group leading large or multiple small product introductions.
  • You will Understand the EMEA NPD Toll Gate New Product Development process and the required deliverables for each phase of the process.
  • Coordinate with Engineering team members to assure that all elements of the Engineering NPD process from gates T0 through T6 are completed on schedule to acceptable quality levels
  • Create and track project schedules and budgets based on engineering team input from within the New Product Development Group.
  • Participate on a cross functional new product introduction team to make sure the product design intent matches the project Critical to Customer (CTC) inputs and that the design information is accurately transferred to manufacturing using Concept Selection tools, Engineering Specifications, DFMEA's, Design Reviews and Design Validation programs resulting in the establishment of a documentation package that includes CTQ's.

What we are looking for

  • You must have a strong background in mechanical systems design
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 10+ years of comprehensive experience working in a Product Design environment
  • Experience as a Project Engineer working on cross functional product development teams with a track record of successful product introductions using a disciplined product introduction process.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project and other project planning tools and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Project Management Tools.
  • Experience in the design of mechanical systems or working in a product development laboratory
  • Knowledge of engineering documentation systems and knowledge of global agency requirements and approvals
  • Must be fluent in English and Germany
