The Job

Our client is a global professional engineering services company specialising in water, energy and urbanisation. They are seeking a Senior Water Modeller to be based out of one of their many UK offices (remote working available).

This senior role will have the responsibility to support the UK based engineering design teams working on Australian based projects. The role focuses on developing business opportunities and building and strengthening our clients' 3 waters modelling business (mainly potable water) through the delivery of projects and technical leadership, coaching and mentoring our people whilst offering innovative solutions for our internal, existing and new clients across the local government and private sectors.

The role will initially be working with water companies based in Australia and will include remote/flexible working. Due to the time differences, being available for early/late calls may be required.

Candidates will ideally live in a commutable distance to our clients' following offices though the roles will be mostly remote working: Leeds, Guildford, Chester, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham and York.

Responsibilities

  • Hydraulic modelling of potable water networks
  • Model build and calibration
  • Options analysis of water supply with assessment of existing problems and recommended solutions / upgrades
  • Preparation of comprehensive reports
  • Provide guidance to less experienced modellers who may be assisting with project work or be undertaking other modelling projects
  • Familiarity with InfoWorks and strong technical skills in a water modelling software package
  • Work with other modellers/designers either as lead or as secondary dependent on projects
  • Report to Team Leader and through other modellers/designers dependent on whether leading or helping with projects
  • Lead and assist with, Water projects including the following:
  • Client Liaison - Develop good business relationships with existing and potential clients to ensure required project outcomes are met and client satisfaction is maintained at a high standard
  • Business Development
  • Project Management - Proven project management, investigation, design and implementation of a range of projects involving water supply, wastewater, stormwater and multidisciplinary projects
  • Mentoring and Coaching - Provide guidance to junior design engineers on projects and be able to train and mentor them
  • Technical Leadership - Provide technical input and leadership to projects - Including review QA/QC of project deliverables as either PM, Technical Reviewer or PD as appropriate
  • Knowledge - Keep knowledge and competencies current, guide staff
  • Quality Assurance - Preparation of high-quality reports, correspondence and other deliverables
  • Provide leadership, planning, and coordination of resources for each project including inputs with other offices, and sub consultants.
  • Manage all jobs to deliver them on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the client.

  • Assist the Team Leader to ensure team and personal utilisation and invoicing efficiency targets are met

Qualifications

  • Civil related qualifications in water
  • Modelling experience
  • Infoworks experience desirable
  • Previous project management
