Principal Engineer - Systems - Safety

This important role is required to drive safety achievement and assurance of safety-related systems applied to some of the world's most exciting vehicle platforms.

Our client provides high performance and safety-related products, systems, validation and reliability services through its Special Series, Motorsport, and Motorbike Product Lines. We are now looking for an experienced Engineer for the role of Systems Safety Engineer to join us in product development.
Your tasks:
- Communicate to provide safety related technical direction to product application project teams
- Deliver project required Safety Work Products - as functional resource lead and/or engineering where appropriate
- Work closely with Systems Engineering & Project Managers in developing and controlling Safety Plans based on project needs
- Manage achievement and auditable assurance of our safety-related products in accordance with procedures and policies, and relevant standards - including ISO 26262
- Regularly communicate on safety to relevant project stakeholders; e.g. customers, Assessors, Auditors - as well as professional networks
Your profile:
- Bachelors degree, with Honours, or higher in a discipline relevant to embedded electronic control and actuation system development
- Knowledge and proven experience designing, developing, and verifying/validating safety-related mechatronic systems - especially with respect to Systems Engineering, Functional Safety, and relevant standards
- Experience of Safety Engineering lifecycle management
- Ability to lead and work within multidisciplinary teams, solving problems and communicating strongly - with an affinity for improving processes.
