Job description
Tasks & Responsibilities;
- Working within a cross-functional project team of up to 20 people. This can include working with external teams/suppliers for work package management / supplied items development.
- Reports directly to the Project Technical Integrator (Systems Engineering)
- Providing analysis/data/documents to the development team members and the Lead Senior Design Engineer, including:
- Perceived Quality scoring
- Product Acceptance Document (PAD)
- Recommended design changes / action items
- Liaise with project team to:
- Ensure the design meets the customer Perceived Quality expectations
- Ensure that the best design standards are consistently implemented
- Ensure selected manufacturing methods and material selection support customer Perceived Quality expectations
- Expected to travel within UK or internationally as required by the project to liaise with project stakeholders/suppliers.
Candidate Skills & Requirements
- Define the perceived quality targets and specifications for the program through the creation and maintenance of the Product Acceptance Document (PAD): identify and analyse potential design, manufacturing and or assembly issues, which will lead to customer disappointment; highlight specific main challenging areas and work with IPT on customer-oriented solutions or risk mitigation and their validation.
- Collect and share lessons learned and best/worst achievements & design features from previous / other programs and or competitors.
- Steer and support product design & development with a high level of attention to detail through the full product lifecycle.
