The Job

Reporting directly to the AESA CDT Management and AESA CDT Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring design solutions are consistent with the product requirements managing the Work Package delivery on budget and schedule.

You will be working primarily with internal customers but will require interaction across various internal departments, some external customer and supplier involvement, managing the delivery of the engineering solution broken out across a number of work packages. A fundamental element is to ensure that all design effort is coordinated, providing guidance, setting priorities and managing work packages across a multi-discipline engineering team.
You will manage, plan and deliver work packages across a wide range of SRIs currently being developed to ensure that key milestones are monitored and achieved.

Key Responsibility Areas
* Deliver a variety of Antenna LRI and SRI solutions from initial concepts, through development and into volume production delivery, working closely with the team of lead engineers and design authorities
* Coordinate activities across the Validation & Verification work packages and work closely with the Test & Integration and T/E Solutions teams to deliver the appropriate T/E solutions to meet the project needs
* Own and maintain the delivery Schedule agreeing appropriate milestones & deliverables with the programme
* Own and maintain the LRI work package resource estimates & working with PEM to ensure resources are available to support delivery commitments
* Maintain SAP Contract status and updates
* Delivery of monthly Work Package status & cost reviews into the IPT & Senior Management, with appropriate support from SRI level
* Own and organise appropriate design reviews (LRI level ownership), (Plan appropriate content for and conduct strategic design reviews.)
* Attend and track key Supplier progress reviews
* Manage team workload and priorities; provide estimates; evaluate, manage and mitigate engineering risks
* Work with customers and suppliers to understand technologies and coordinate development activities to align with capabilities
* Ensure Critical Design Features, e.g. Unit Production Cost, yield, KPIs (RF parameters etc), are defined, tracked and managed
* Promote design commonality and re-use within the team, and promote best practice use of the team's engineering resources across the business

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required
What we are looking for:
* Broad experience of the majority of product lifecycle phases.
* Proven team leadership skills within a specialist technical environment.
* Proven track record delivering engineering solutions on time, cost and performance
* Work to tight deadlines to ensure business objectives are achieved

Desirable:
* Work package management, including; plans and estimates, scheduling and risk management processes
* Previous experience in related technologies is preferred (RF/Microwave, Packaging, PCA design, Firmware Development for example.)
