Job description

Software Engineer:

• Experience in programming in the R language
• ESSENTIAL
• Basic knowledge of dplyr and/or tidyverse packages for data.frame operations with large datasets
• DESIRED
• Experience with the ggplot package
• Experience with dynamic programming/generalisation
• An eye for optimisation using data frame manipulation
• Experience with automated testing using testthat (but any automated testing experience is beneficial)
• Experience in SQL Server
• ESSENTIAL
• Basic queries and clauses: SELECT, WHERE, ORDER BY, GROUP BY, INSERT INTO etc
• Experience with joins
• DESIRED
• Understanding and application of relational database properties
• Understanding of indexes for loading and runtime optimisation
• Other experience
• Ability to follow set development processes: configuration management, reviews and testing
• Open to improvements/suggestions for the future
• Willing to participate in requirements design and guidance writing
• Knowledge of testing very useful
• Any experience in/understanding of air traffic management concepts is hugely beneficial, but not required
• Working efficiently under pressure is key
• Good communication at a technical and non-technical level.
