Job description

The Role

To coordinate and execute engineering tasks, or packages of work, and to provide guidance and advice in a consistent professional manner within the discipline. Deliver systems and/or equipment, documentation and maturity appropriate to the stage of the Engineering Lifecycle, taking cognisance of appropriate budget, timescale and quality standards.

Resonsibilites/Accountablities:

Not limited to...

• Responsible for the production of engineering documentation and technical specifications for area of responsibility and, in addition, produce supporting calculations and undertake design reviews to support the issue of said documentation.

• To produce evidence in support of qualification, legislative requirements and safety justifications and provide specialist support for associated activities.

• Provide support to the Certificate of Design activities appropriate to the discipline and articulate and present complex technical argument clearly, logically and simply.

• Producing Outline Functional System Diagrams.

• Writing Technical specifications.

Knowledge:

Not limited to...

• Knowledge or at least recognition of relevant engineering standards (including safety and environmental regulations).

• A general understanding of the manufacturing, assembly, commissioning and testing processes used within the business.

• Basic understanding of the challenges posed by the environment that the product will be exposed to.

Qualifications:

• BEng (Hons) Degree or equivalent experience in the appropriate discipline for the role.

• Capable of achieving the appropriate Professional Institution membership level as detailed in the role profile.

Security Requirements: SC

This role will require the person to hold full Security Clearance (SC) prior to working onsite. You will need to obtain a BPSS check as part of this process. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC and you must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship and have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum 5 year period. The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). Please note, the rate paid by the Umbrella will be less, as will a Limited Deemed rate or Agency PAYE rate. Please get in touch to discuss the rates via these different payment vehicles.
