Our water sector client is seeking a Development Support Specialist who will support their Future Growth Team responding to challenges arising through housing growth/developments and the impact on water and nutrient neutrality.

The Job

Our water sector client is seeking a Development Support Specialist who will support their Future Growth Team responding to challenges arising through housing growth/developments and the impact on water and nutrient neutrality.

The role will help ensure these challenges are addressed with the protection of the environment and habitats in mind. The role will work alongside a programme of works undertaken to enable developers to design for water efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • You will work with developers on trials for approaches to support water efficiency outcomes and define and deliver water efficiency outcomes for housing developers that support company water efficiency targets.
  • You will develop and maintain delivery of progressive plans that support housing development in water stressed areas through increasingly water efficient developments and work with the Future Growth Lead to develop a framework for adaptive response to emerging challenges.
  • The core of Water and Nutrient Neutrality is to protect the environment. If you are able to demonstrate equivalent experience and commitment to responsible ways of working you will be supported to develop within the role.

Experience/qualifications

  • Ideally you will have experience within the water industry, sustainable development or the development industry and understand water in the environment linking hydrological, ecological, geological and geographical perspectives.
  • Capable of leading on their own initiative as well as being able to work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • You will need to be confident, calm and adaptable but ready to work on changing the water industry as this role will hit the ground running!
  • Hybrid working will be available for this role but the candidate must be mobile and able to attend meetings with stakeholders including local councils, developers and other interested parties
  • Our client is seeking a confident communicator who isn't afraid to present their own ideas or speak in front of others
