An exciting opportunity has arisen for a team of Marine Electricians, based in Portchester
You will be involved in the electrical installation on marine craft. Suitable candidates need a sound knowledge of fundamental electrical installation working practices in marine environment, preferably on smaller craft, be capable of working to a consistent high standard and work well within mixed trade teams.
Day to day duties:
Responsible for running cables throughout the vessel
Installing cabling support systems including conduit, tray, and cable transits.
Read and interpret electrical drawings
Installation of electrical equipment of varying size.
Fault finding on electrical circuits and equipment as required.
Carry out electrical testing to include insulation, continuity, phase and earth.
Ability to use crimping tools.
Able to accurately solder.
Set to work electrical machinery and equipment.
Self certify own installations.
Terminate various multi pin plugs.
You must have completed an appropriate engineering apprenticeship.
Be flexible and adaptable to all types of work
Understand and work to the requirements of the Health and Safety and Environmental legislation Act
Have experience of working in a continuous improvement environment and be willing to make an active contribution to the process / team
Rates of pay:
Standard - £24/h
Weekday OT - Time & 1/3
Saturday OT - Time & 1/2
Sunday OT - Double time
PAYE also available with hourly holiday accrual
Hours - Standard 40 hour week with weekday and weekend OT available
Long term contract running until November 2023 as a minimum and beyond
