Integration Engineer

The Job

Our client is looking for an Integration Engineer to join their Submarine Command System (SMCS) team in New Malden. Key tasks will include:

  • Production of Software Builds & Installation Images
  • Support to Software Deliveries (Engineering Releases & Formal Releases)
  • Support Target Hardware including installation of new builds & Operating environments
  • Support Target testing including general integration, stress & integrity and performance testing
  • Investigation of System wide issues including raising of observation reports for defects, when appropriate
  • Investigate defects as required and support defect clearance release acceptance process

What we are looking for in you:

  • Familiar with Windows Operating System (Client & Server) functionality.
  • Familiar with virtualisation technologies e.g. VMWare.
  • Ability to investigate, methodically, a symptom to understand and isolate the root cause.
  • Ability to quickly understand how areas of a complex system work
  • Able to apply past experience to support the understanding and investigation of new issues.
  • Substantial experience of integrating software-intensive, complex real-time systems
  • Experience of interacting with engineers across multiple disciplines e.g. hardware, software & systems

Additional information:

  • This is a fully site based role but there could be some flexibility at certain times.
  • Security requirements: SC

This role will require the person to hold full Security Clearance (SC) prior to working onsite. You will need to obtain a Criminal Record Check and must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC. You must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship and have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum 5 year period. The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). Please note, the rate paid by the Umbrella will be less, as will a Limited Deemed rate or Agency PAYE rate. Please get in touch to discuss the rates via these different payment vehicles.
