Our client is looking for a highly motivated Engineer with the ability to work under pressure and deliver high quality work for Off-Highway and Heavy duty common rail diesel systems.

The Job

About the Role
* Our Engineering Centre has sole responsibility for design, validation and productionisation of FIE system and
components for customers across Europe (CAT, Cummins, Volvo Truck, Volvo PENTA, MAN, Kohler, GM).
* The organisation splits into 3 key groups:
* Application customer support functions, with small teams spread across Europe
* System team which help support performance of the system (e.g. rail pressure and injector calibration)
* Component Engineers who ensure the components design and customers use of the components is suitable to
achieve the customers requirements (performance, life, etc).
* The teams are relatively small but very close and we have to closely collaborate in order to complete validation / investigate
and solve customer issues.
* In this role your responsibilities will include system specification, calibration (e.g. rail pressure control, injector
characterisation), validation and issue investigation. The role also includes pre-development work such as system control
development and engine demonstration projects. The applicant will need to show good theoretical knowledge, be a clear
thinker able to clearly and concisely explain complex topics, and have a very strong attention to detail to ensure the best
possible solution.
* You will also have the opportunity to contribute to internal process improvements that increase working efficiency.
* Our client has invested heavily in diesel and has 3 test rigs (to simulate engine and measure detailed component shot
performance), as well as a component inspection laboratory (to measure wear and deterioration of returned components).
* Our client see's a strong future still in diesel for Off Highway and heavy duty applications.
Future Technology
* Our client continues to develop combustion technology using conventional fuels and exploring new carbon neutral fuels
and technologies to enable their use.
* Our client are developing Hydrogen technology via our Research and development centre in Aachen.
* Once Hydrogen technology is production ready, the image is it's promotion, application and validation will be handled
by the Coventry Engineering Team.
* During COVID the team continued to successfully operate from home with limited onsite support for the testing team.
* Given the success of the working from home we are now working 3 days Home / 2 days office.
* Our client offers flexible working hours, with start times between 7:30 and 10:00am.
* Our client are keen to develop engineers skills in Matlab, VBA, Confluence and Tableau, where we have ongoing
projects to automate engineering work to increase efficiency.
* Opportunities to visit manufacturing sites in Hungary and Head quarters in Japan.
* Training opportunities exist in terms of training placements in Hungary and Japan (2 of the team have spent 12
months in Japan).
