Job description

Our client is looking for an Engineer to provide Combat/Mission Systems advice for NCSISS Integration and Trials activities at their Maritime Integration Support Centre in Portsdown Technology Park. You will provide a 'System of Systems' approach to Integration, Assurance and Analysis activities (Shore and Platform based) as tasked by the NCSISS project team, providing feedback and findings in the form of formal reports, meetings and reviews.

Tasks will include:

• 1. Participate in the Trials and Integration activity as tasked as part of the larger team providing Command System specialist knowledge.
• Conduct shore and sea based trials as directed by the NCSISS management team, including: Linking, Integration and Acceptance trials and production of formal reports. 3
• Take ownership of tasking when allocated as Task/Team lead and drive through to conclusion utilising allocated resource appropriately.
• Conduct analysis in support of trials recordings and provide suitable report with narrative to substantiate findings.
• Keep abreast of Combat/Mission System advances and major system changes in order to remain current and competent (identify and attend training acquaints and in house briefings as appropriate).
• Identify suitable analysis training needs as new systems are developed.
• Provide sufficient, accurate and timely reports to support integration and trials activity as requested by the Customer.
• Participate in meetings, reviews and workshops as required by the Customer and external stakeholders.
• Apply good Configuration Management processes to daily work through utilisation of the NCSISS Shared Records area and keeping good track of documentation amendments.
• Use Data Recording and Analysis equipment (including TACs/SAINTT/DRAS) and other built-in/bespoke integration toolsets to interpret system operational capability.

What we are looking for in you:

We are looking for an engineer who has experience working with Combat Systems on-board Surface Fleet and can get involved in trials / acceptance / analysis type activities:

• Experience of Combat System trials activities and post trials analysis.
• Technical experience of Combat sytems, host equipments and interfaces.
• Ability to use Data Recording and Analysis equipment and Synthetic Test Environment tools (including TACs/SAINTT/DRAS/SG&A/TRACIT) to interpret system functionality.
• Knowledge of current and future Combat/Mission System Architectures.
• Knowledge of System Integration in Surface Ships.
• Knowledge of relevant engineering standards and codes of practice

Additional information:

• This role is likely to be fully site based due to the nature of the work
• Security requirements: SC + ITAR

This role will require the person to hold full Security Clearance (SC) prior to working onsite. You will need to obtain a Criminal Record Check and must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC. You must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship and have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum 5 year period. The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs).
