Job description

The Job: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Poole, Dorset

Industry: Manufacturing

Contract Type: Full Time and Permanent

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

- Liaising with the R&D Manager in order to establish scope and completion dates for projects.

- Creating detailed CAD models and working drawings using SolidWorks for product development and prototyping, fabrication, BOMs and future production.

- Assisting with the production and fabrication of prototypes, noting and recording ease of fabrication, assembly and maintaining costs.

- Researching new technologies and enhancements which may be applicable for current products.

- Preparing documentation for User and Operator manuals.

- Carrying out other associated duties as may arise or develop.

In order to be considered for the position of a Design Engineer, you should have:

- A minumum of HNC or a degree related discipline.

- Knowledge of 3D CAD packages, product data management systems.

- Knowledge of various manufacturing processes, excellent numeracy and analytical ability.
