I am looking for a QES Advisor to join a growing team to cover the East of England - from Yorkshire to Essex. You can be based out of their office in Peterborough or York, with a mix of site and office visits. A willingness to travel is essential.

Job description

This role will give you the opportunity to complete inspections, provide Health and Safety support on Site and Office visits and carry out incident investigations as well as providing feedback and carrying out briefings to sites. You will operate as a visible and hands on individual, passionate about health, and the environment and champion the best Health, Safety and Environmental practice ensuring it is embedded in every team's activities.

Further responsibility will include:

  • Maintain a programme of Safety and Environmental site visits which includes inspections, support visits, engagement tours to ensure site compliance with Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
  • Attend relevant pre-site meetings to provide Health, Safety and Environmental advice before projects begin operating on sites.
  • Contribute to incident investigations as part of an investigation team as required. This will include gathering evidence, interviewing and completing the investigation report as per the Health, Safety and Environmental Management System procedures.
  • Be a key point of contact for Design and Construction related Health, Safety & Environmental advice
  • Develop & deliver Health, Safety & Environmental training as required

Reporting to the Lead QES Adviser you will need to demonstrate proven experience in supporting health, safety and environmental plans in complex settings and be competent with utilizing and adapting digital technologies to improve performance and outcomes.

You will need to have excellent communication and people skills with strong analytical skills to interpret detailed information and regulations and be passionate about people and upholding with high standards of in health, safety & / environmental practice.

Essential

  • Qualifications - Tech/Grad IOSH/CMIOSH H&S professional or relevant Degree/NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety
  • Construction experience
  • Willingness to travel
  • Occasional overnight stays
  • Knowledge of Quality management systems and product quality

Desirable:

  • Civil engineering experience
  • Water industry experience
  • Environmental knowledge/qualification
  • Design & Construction experience

The salary ranges from 30-45k depending on experience, with other great benefits:
