Role: Controls Engineer
Salary: Excellent - Dependent on level of experience plus Bonus
Location: East Grinstead, West Sussex
Hours: 8am - 415pm. 3pm on Friday
Hybrid Working: 3 days office / 2 days home
Benefits: 8% Pension Contribution from the employer, 4% from the employee, Annual Bonus, 25 days holiday plus stats, Annual Pay rise.

The Requirements:

To design control circuits for special purpose machines
-
To create functions list for machine control and populate with relevant cross referencing to controls circuits
-
To ensure safety both in designs and implementation in house and on customer sites
-
To provide guidance and advise on a technical level to other departments
-
To liaise with site teams to ensure smooth interaction between site and controls engineers
-
To interface with both in house sub contract staff and exterior design resources
-
To support other departments within the company including Sales, Purchasing, HR, Finance and Factory
-
To work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
-
To support the controls requirements for both powertrain and car body technology sides of the business
Project:
The manufacturing of assembly lines
Key Responsibilities/Competencies
-
Experience of working in controls design
-
Experience in special purpose design
-
Design Hardware circuits from the mechanical design concept and customer specifications (new & modify existing) with Eplan and AutoCAD packages is preferred
-
Reading / Understanding schematics
-
Ensure Safety, Safety critical investigations
-
PLC Programming
-
Commissioning and fault finding in house and on customer sites (50/50 split - all expenses covered)
-
Pneumatic / Hydraulic circuit design knowledge (desirable)
-
Understanding Pneumatic diagrams
-
Must be prepared to travel to Germany for training days
Other Responsibilities:

Design feasibility evaluation (FMEA, Safety Risk Assessments, Functions lists, Cycle timing diagrams, Calculations)

Requisitioning equipment

Technical Support (Onsite Engineering, Projects)

CAD Administration
-
Sales Proposal support

Documentation support
-
Purchasing/Procurement Support (technical input, supplier info)
