Principal Software Engineer
Introduction
Principal Software Engineer (C++ & C#) - New Malden - 12 Month Contract
Important
The Job
We are looking for Software Engineers who are experienced with C# and C++ programming languages, to write software according to coding standards and maintain existing software by investigating issues and identifying pragmatic solutions.
Responsibilities will include:
- Analyse software requirements, create software design updates to support software implementation, ensuring that the overall system will behave according to its requirements
- Write software test schedules and run them to test the system, demonstrating compliance with the requirements
- Document appropriate information, so that others can understand the software and the system.
- Contribute to process improvement within the team to ensure that the team always looks to improve how it works
- Liaise with other team members, teams and customers to ensure key information is understood
Key Technical Skills:
- A solid understanding of at least some of the following disciplines is essential:
- Structured Software Design, using formal methods
- Coding standards
- Programming (Essential): C++, C#,
- Programming (Desirable): Other e.g. Ada VB Script, Powershell
- Software Integration & Testing
- Change Control and Configuration Management
- Familiarisation with Windows Operating System (Client & Server) and other COTS technologies
- Familiarisation with virtualisation technologies e.g. VMWare
Additional information:
- Security requirements: SC
This role will require the person to hold full Security Clearance (SC) prior to working onsite. You will need to obtain a Criminal Record Check and must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC. You must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship and have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum 5 year period. The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). Please note, the rate paid by the Umbrella will be less, as will a Limited Deemed rate or Agency PAYE rate. Please get in touch to discuss the rates via these different payment vehicles.
