My Client is recruiting for an Electrical/Telemetry Technician in the Water Sector

Location: based from Reading office but covering London and surrounding area's

The Technician will hold a technical role within the company and should set good examples of conduct and professionalism. For individual projects they will report to the assigned Project Manager / Engineer, however, in time, it may be expected that they should accept ownership of certain lower valued contracts. From time to time they may be asked to take charge of a working party and be responsible for lesser skilled employees, therefore they should be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Health & Safety issues and leadership skills.

This will be a mainly site based role. There may be occasions where support for other projects / departments may be required across the business, so a flexible attitude is desired.

This role will also require the ability to effectively liaise with internal staff (both senior and junior) and external clients / contractors in a polite, professional and courteous manner.

Accountabilities

Typical (non-exhaustive) duties may include: -

  • Ensuring that all Health & Safety processes and procedures are followed
  • Carry out electrical installation work to BS7671.
  • Carry out installation, service and repair to a variety of low voltage electrical control systems.
  • Carry our installation, replacement, and modifications to various Telemetry based systems.
  • Carry out installation and commissioning of a variety of instrumentation systems, including pressure, level, temperature, flow & actuated knife gate valves.
  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance and calibration of instruments on product range.
  • Ability to fault find in control panels with / without electrical schematics
  • MCC / control panel modifications
  • Provide written technical reports and other documentation as required by senior engineering professionals.
  • Be capable of carrying out test and inspection of electrical installation and providing satisfactory documentation as required by the Company's nominated certificating body (NICEIC, ECA etc.)
  • All technicians should be PC literate and be able to demonstrate a sound background in IT skills.

  • Ability to organise and management time effectively

  • A high level of PC Skills
  • Ability to work well alone as well as with other teams within the company
  • Electrically Qualified
  • Hold 18th Edition Wiring regulations qualification
  • Flexible approach
