My Client is recruiting for an Electrician (Test and Inspection) in the Water Sector

Location: based from Reading office but covering London and surrounding areas

The Electrician will hold a technical role within the company and should set examples of excellent conduct and professionalism. For individual projects, they will report to the assigned Project Manager, however, dependent on experience they could be expected to accept ownership of certain lower valued contracts.

This role will require the ability to effectively liaise with internal staff (both senior and junior) and external clients / contractors in a polite, professional and courteous manner, providing electrical testing services for our clients.

Accountabilities

Typical (non-exhaustive) duties may include: -

• Carry out electrical test and inspection on Water sites
• Carry out Electrical remedial works to BS7671
• Ensure that any unsafe electrical installations are managed safely and professionally in order to minimise risk to staff and the establishment, identifying the problem and taking remedial action as required
• Complete all relevant testing paperwork to a high standard
• Carry out installation, service and repair to variety of low voltage electrical control systems.
• From time to time they may be asked to take charge of a working party and be responsible for lesser skilled employees, therefore they should be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Health & Safety issues and leadership skills.
• Provide written technical reports and other documentation as required by senior engineering professionals.
• All Electricians should be PC literate and be able to demonstrate a basic background in IT skills.

The Electrician will need to hold the following

• Full electrical apprenticeship or qualifications
• 18^th Edition Wiring regulations
• Testing Qualifications
• ECS Gold Card

Required Skills

• Ability to organise and manage time effectively
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Good PC literacy
• Ability to work well with other teams within the company
• Water industry experience preferred but not essential.
