Job description
Our client is a large-scale and innovative organisation providing temperature-controlled logistics solutions with more than 20,000 employees spanning 20 worldwide countries.
They have drastically increased their European footprint in a short period with now +70 locations across 10 European countries. We are expanding our IT Infrastructure team to help deliver various business critical infrastructure projects.
The Role:
Working with colleagues across IT Service and System delivery; you will provide support for 2nd line incidents and requests; whilst playing a critical role in progressing important IT infrastructure projects across Europe.
You will help to onboard newly acquired facilities in multi-European countries; by working with specialist teams on new build sites, warehouse expansions, life-cycle management projects and business projects.
This role is part of a virtual team, which is based mostly across Heywood (UK) and Rotterdam (NL); you will have the flexibility to work from home but also will enjoy visiting sites across Europe.
Tasks include:
- Have an active role in IT infrastructure projects
- Provide daily support for 2nd line incidents, requests, and changes (via Topdesk)
- Deploy hard and software (servers, network equipment, cloud instances, etc)
- Assist in maintaining and optimizing the IT infrastructure environment to ensure business continuity
- Set up and maintain IT documentation
- Support in IT Security tasks and ensure that the IT security policy is up to date and enforced
- Mobile and warehouse device management (Microsoft Intune and SOTI)
Who we're looking for:
- Experience with networking projects (Setting up new & replacing existing networks)
- Knowledge of/experience with Cisco Meraki
- Knowledge of/experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience working for logistics companies/ on logistics IT projects
- Someone who works collaboratively in teams with a positive attitude
- Sense of urgency and enjoys a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Fluent in English (other languages are desirable but not required)
