Job description

Overview:

* To develop a Design Budget with the Project Manager, and to develop the following documentation.
* Help develop and close out Designers Risk Assessments (DRA) on designs in a timely manner.
* Issue AFC documentation for construction.
* Review drawings for as built construction.
* Ensure all design and documentation is logged correctly
* Collate all necessary design information for H&S file.
* To ensure all design meets with the necessary client specifications and any national standards.
* Hold Challenge workshops at commencement of project, then at completion of outline design.
* Ensure all responsibilities of Principle Designer role are carried out in a timely manner.
* Submit designs to client for review.
* Review Material Purchase Specifications (MPS) to ensure minimum required information is submitted for procurement.
* Expediting and reviewing subcontractor designs. Submit to technical specialist for comments, in a timely manner
* Attend Design Review Meetings with client
* To review and advise Project Manager on any changes to design, either client led, or DEL led
* To attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) if necessary to ensure S/C designs are compliant.
* To communicate fully with the Project Manager/Engineer, other members of the team, other departments and section of the company, the Client, vendors and sub-contractors on matters relating to the project.
* To assist in the production, tracking and reporting of the project programme.
* To fully participate in the development of procedures and systems for use within the Engineering department.
* To comply with all Health and Safety responsibilities commensurate with the role, as outlined in the Health and Safety policy.
* Any other duties commensurate with the position as may be assigned from time to time.
