This position will be based in Guildford, Basingstoke or Maidstone with hybrid work.

Job description

An excellent opportunity for a Technician / Inspector to support in the identification of asset specific needs and early solutions, while assuring adhert.ence to defined asset policies and standards; the role may be required to work unsociable hours.

What you'll be leading on

1. Ensuring the health and safety needs and wellbeing of customers and employees are fully considered and accounted for throughout the planning and delivery of each service activity.

1. Supporting the identification and evaluation of asset specific needs in order to develop future maintenance, renewals and improvement solutions.

1. To support the development of asset renewals and improvement plans, in line with agreed methodologies and prioritisation criteria.

1. Providing support in the identification and management of asset studies and survey works.

1. To input into the development of early solutions for improvements and/or renewals, including the compiling of relevant documents, evidence and options for value management.

1. Supporting the development of technical briefs provided to the design and construction contractor for improvement and renewals work

1. To support the capture and maintenance of roads asset data and condition information in the relevant database(s), in line with agreed standards and timescales.

To be successful

• Good understanding of the function of and the importance of the Strategic Road Network
• HND/C or other relevant qualification with relevant experience or working towards.
• Experience in highway infrastructure design or traffic engineering.
• Experience in AutoCAD desirable.
• Experience in highway construction and delivery methods
• Good communication skills
• Strong customer focus
