Job description

• Multitasking lathe setter/Operator
• 5-Axis CNC Prismatic Miller x 2 (Weekday Nights)
• CNC Grinder x 1 (Weekend Nights) x 1 (weekday nights)
• CNC Gear Grinder x 2 (Weekend Nights) x 2 (Weekiday nights)

Please note - they are open to train up candidates as Grinders (either CNC Grinding & Gear Grinding).

Duties
CNC Turner
Set and operate:

• Hitachi Seiki Hitec-Turn 23RIII 2 axis turning machines
• Victor TurnII 20OiT and 26 OT and 26Oit 2 axis turning machines
• Leadwell LTC 25iL with Siemens 828D
• Doosan puma GT3100

CNC Miller

• Set and operate Doosan 4-axis machining Centres with Fanuc control

CNC Gear Grinder

• Programme Set and Operate, Opal and Hofler Gear grinders.
• Using Klingelnberg PNC 100/P26 for inspection of own work being able to interpret and qualify results.
• Experience with bevel gear grinding or CNC / Manual grinding will be advantageous.

CNC Grinder

• Programme Set and Operate, Studer CNC Grinder. Manual grinding experience would be advantageous.
• Programming of Fanuc 16T control and Studer Picto programming software.
• Grinding of aerospace and transmission components to ensure parts are to drawing and of an acceptable standard. Qualified to a respectable Level.
• Use of various inspection equipment, to determine size and surface finish.
• Manual grinding as and when required cylindrical, internal/external and surface grinding.

The Candidate

• Proven experience working in a machine shop environment either in a Milling, Turning or Grinding capacity. No previous experience in grinding is required, just desirable. A candidate with a strong foundation in machine shop operations will be trained up.
• Time-served apprentice, ideally with NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, would be preferred.
• Must be vigilant and diligent, with a good attention to detail, and able to maintain high standards of work.
• To understand and interpret requirements accurately, by effective questioning, listening, clarification and implementing of information, and record results.
• Effective communication skills (verbal and written) in order to liaise with colleagues.
• Use of literacy skills to complete route cards, records, etc.
• To have basic PC skills to ensure electronic system is kept up to date.
• An industrious and enquiring individual working alone or as part of a team, without direct supervision.
• A willingness to learn new skills and advance their potential to becoming a competent and flexible member of the manufacturing team.
• Must be willing to work overtime when required to achieve delivery dates.

Hours/Shift/Contract Length

• Weekday Nights (21:15-07:00, Monday to Thursday)
• Weekend Nights (18:00 - 06:00, Friday to Sunday)
• These contracts will initially be for 6-months with the view of renewal or possibility of permanent work thereafter. Trining on day shift will be required for the first couple of months (07:30 - 16:00, Monday to Thursday | 07:30 - 12:30, Friday).

Rates
Contractor will be paid a base rate per hour but accrue an additional retainer bonus on top that will be paid out on completion of each contractual period.
These contracts have been deemed inside IR35, therefore, only PAYE or Umbrella contracts available.
Standard Days (whilst training)

• PAYE: £15.59 (plus £0.83 retainer)
• UMB: £21.17 (plus £1.13 retainer

Weekday Nights

• PAYE: £18.71 (plus £1.00 retainer)
• UMB: £25.41 (plus £1.36 retainer

Weekend Nights

• PAYE: £20.83 (plus £1.11 retainer)
• UMB: £28.29 (plus £1.51 retainer

Overtime

• Monday-Saturday: x1.5
• Sunday: x2
