My Client is recruiting for a Commissioning Manager in the Water Sector
Our Client has a new opportunity for an experienced MEP Commissioning Manager with previous experience in the water utilities sector. The role will be responsible for the MEP team across Unit D which covers Midlands & Wales, this includes Mechanical, Electrical, Automation and Process engineers who carry out design, installation, commissioning, and handover activities. Success in the role will be ensuring safety, right first time and successfully delivery of programme of works. The role will work closely with Operations Managers, Contract Managers, Lead MEP Engineers, QES advisors and design & site delivery teams.
Main Responsibilities
- Managing the overall MEP delivery across Wales & Midlands operating regions
- Managing MEP Lead engineers across both frameworks
- Provide guidance and coordinate activity of the planning, design, and construction teams
- Undertake technical reviews and compliance checks
- Monitor projects to ensure right procedures and cost, time, and quality objectives.
- Ensure full compliance with project plans and specifications.
- Monitoring the quality of work performance by contractor and the quality of materials used on-site.
- Evaluating the progress of the project to determine if time schedules and cost objectives are being met.
- Developing and mentoring engineers, graduates, apprentices, and trainees.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Ideally Degree educated in a relevant engineering discipline
- Proven track record in delivering large and multidiscipline MEICA projects and experience of planning the commissioning process
- Previous experience as an MEP Project Manager or MEP Engineer
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical and process techniques
- Excellent understanding of project management methodologies, techniques, and concepts
- Ability to work as a client representative in the review and inspection of mechanical and electrical project works
- Experience of working as project engineer for mechanical, electrical and process design from inception to completion
- Excellent organisation, management, and commercial skills
- Excellent communication & IT skills
- Full UK driving licence and ability to travel within the operating regions
