Production Electrical Assembly Technician
Location - Phi House - Chilworth - Southampton
Salary - £22-29k DOE
Hours - 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday

What are we looking for?
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for two Production Electrical Assembly Technician's to join the Instruments team at DEKRA.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Production Electrical Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for building, assembling, testing, repairing and calibrate a variety of instruments to an outstanding quality, for both in-house and external test laboratory customers.

Your role will involve:

  • Build, assembly, test, repair and calibration of our Process Safety (PS) and JCI electrostatic measurement range of instruments. Training in the function of the equipment will be given.
  • Panel mount (bucket) soldering, wiring and crimping of equipment enclosures
  • Hand assembly of DIN rail and cable trays and facilitate the laying out components into enclosures
  • Repairing of cables. Plugs, sockets and replacement components for in house and
  • You
    We are looking for people who can demonstrate:
  • Time served experience in an Electrical or electro-mechanical production type environment.
  • Proven High level hand soldering (particularly bucket soldering) and hand crimping skills
  • Experienced in the use of hand tools (particularly soldering, crimping, drilling, screwdriver, socket spanner work)
  • Ability to fault find to a sub-assembly input/output level and repair instruments is an advantage.
  • Mechanical experience in an electro-mechanical discipline is also a distinct advantage in this role although training will be given where necessary.
  • Lathe experience is beneficial but not essential as training will be given.
  • This role would suit an individual with a passion to continue learning and developing their skillset
