Job description
Our clients are looking to expand our Signature Team in the UK, working on high profile infrastructure projects such as Transpennine Route Upgrade and HS2, we are building on our 50 years of success in the UK by growing our team and looking for passionate people to deliver projects across our portfolio.
We are now seeking to strengthen and grow our Engineering team in our London office, initially working as part of our Old Oak Common High Speed 2 project team, by recruiting an experienced MEP Engineer.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a range of experience within the Civil Engineering/Transportation/Infrastructure sectors. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic MEP Engineer to further their career in a highly motivated and inspirational environment, whilst supporting the growth of the team.
The Senior Engineer will be accountable for the design delivery of allocated E&P/MEP Projects.
- This role requires considerable professional experience and expertise in order to manage complex or non-standard design solutions.
- Have a good understanding of CSM/CDM regulations and requirements.
- Good communication and presentation skills for external presentations to clients.
- Management of an E&P/MEP team of engineers on allocated projects
- Maintaining good relationships with all external parties to enhance the reputation of the company.
- Maintaining good relationships with principal engineers from other internal discipline teams to promote good inter-discipline working relationships and a "One Team" ethos.
Main Duties
The Senior Engineer's main duties will to be act as E&P/MEP Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) and or Design Manager on E&P/MEP projects allocated to them by the team leader and to be responsible for:
- Ensuring projects are completed to meet all client's requirements and applicable standards.
- Ensuring projects are completed to the agreed project programme.
- Ensuring projects are completed to the agreed budget.
- Plan the project works and provide forward view resource forecasting to enable the team leader to allocate suitable resource to the projects.
- Identify changes to the projects client requirements and raise the changes with the Systra Project Management Team.
- Provide monthly cost to complete forecasts to the Systra Project Management Team.
Experience
- Considerable E&P Engineering experience with exposure to rail and/or infrastructure engineering industries
- Detailed knowledge multi- disciplinary interfaces associated with E&P & MEP designs in a railway environment.
- This role requires considerable professional experience and expertise to manage complex or non-standard design solutions.
- Have a good understanding of CSM/CDM regulations and requirements.
- Good communication and presentation skills for external presentations to clients.
- Team competence and leadership experience
- Strong relationship management skills to maintain good relationships with all external parties to enhance the reputation of the company.
- Maintenance of good relationships with principal engineers from other internal discipline teams to promote good inter-discipline working relationships and a "One Team" ethos.
