Job description

IT Infrastructure Engineer required for 12 months (likely to be extended) based in Basingstoke, offering hybrid working. Inside IR35 paying around £300 per day PAYE.

Requirements:

• Manage the Company IT Infrastructure
• Working as part of the company's IT Infrastructure team.
• Management of IT infrastructure in the company's office in the UK and remote administration of infrastructure overseas.
• Ensuring all infrastructure is at latest software levels to maintain the security of the environment.
• Identification and remediation of cyber-security vulnerabilities.
• Daily management of enterprise backup software and associated media.
• Implementation of imminent infrastructure projects.
• Network management including DNS, DHCP, WAN, LAN.
• Update and improve existing documentation.
• Evaluate and suggest enhancements to existing infrastructure / configuration.
• Any other infrastructure administrative activities as deemed necessary by the IT Manager.

Qualifications, technical skills and experience:

• Previous experience in an IT Infrastructure Engineer role required
• Knowledgeable across a wide range of technologies including networking, cloud, virtual and physical hardware, switches, routers, and SAN technologies
• Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Ability to manage and configure a Cisco network including switches, routers, firewalls and wireless network
• In-depth working knowledge of the following:

Microsoft Operating Systems, Storage Area Networks, preferably NetApp and HP, VMware, Cisco Switches, Routers and ASA, Cisco Call Manager VOIP Telephony, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Windows Server Update Service, Enterprise Backup software, preferably VEEAM and/or CommVault.

• Working experience and awareness of the following or similar products:

BlueCoat Cloud-based Web Filtering, Barracuda Email Security Gateway, McAfee EPO Server, Fortinet Firewalls.
