Job description
The Lyminster Bypass is being delivered on behalf of West Sussex County Council with the aim of alleviating traffic congestion through the villages of Wick and Lyminster.
The bypass will be a 1.1mile-long, 7.3m-wide single dual carriageway with verge on one side and a shared footway/cycleway facility on the other. An existing public bridleway will be maintained with a Pegasus Crossing, provided to ensure the safety of equestrians, cyclists and pedestrians.
A new viaduct will be constructed over an area known as Black Ditch and its associated flood plain to ensure that there is no increase in flood risk. As far as possible, the new carriageway will be constructed off-line from the existing highway network to minimise disruption for road users.
