Job description
About the position
Would you like to work on novel healthcare solutions, smart city technology, advanced robotic systems or sensors for autonomous drones? What about mobile ad-hoc radio networks or airfield radar? How do you fancy underwater or aircraft-based sensor and communications systems? These are all current projects of our client, and they need the brightest minds joining their diverse team to deliver them.
Their work is largely driven by technical development and innovation. One of the great advantages of working for them is that no two projects are the same. If you are an enthusiastic, adaptable and motivated person with a background in engineering, who thrives on variety, enjoys learning new skills and facing exciting challenges then this is the place to be.
THE ROLE
Our client is looking for an RF Systems Engineer and Design Lead to join their team, possessing the experience necessary to play a key role in architecting and designing new systems and products.
The work will require an in-depth understanding of the fundamentals underlying the real-world engineering of systems that have a basis in radio. Experience in the definition and engineering of new radio communications and/or radar systems is essential.
In this role you will be distilling client requirements into appropriate feasibility study and systems-level analysis activities. In addition to the technical skills necessary to undertake such studies, you will be comfortable explaining complex technical matters to non-technical customers. These initial activities will be followed by the generation of prototype system block diagrams and module specifications, leading to specific work packages that will be shared across the design team. Depending on the project, you will be able to put your schematic-level design and practical test/development skills into practice.
You will have a background in the design of RF electronics at circuit level and experience in the design of radio transceivers.
The role provides the opportunity to use your technical leadership skills to work with a team to follow exciting new ideas through from concept into reality. You will have the satisfaction of working in a supportive and experienced team of subject matter experts, whilst also mentoring talented younger graduates.
