SQL Database Administrator - 12 -month contract - Yeovil - £39.58 UMB p/h or £30.00 p/h PAYE (Inside IR35)

The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e., the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). Please note, the rate paid by the Umbrella will be less, as will a Limited Deemed rate or Agency PAYE rate. Please get in touch to discuss the rates via these different payment vehicles.

The Role:

As an SQL DBA you will be involved in the installation, configuration, management and monitoring of services and their supported solutions. IT systems are managed using ITIL Framework and principals, you will be responsible for the investigation of arising issues, resolved against the defined Service Level Agreements.

Your Main Responsibilities:

Database Administration, Design and Implementation

• Uses database management system software and tools to collect agreed performance statistics.
• Carry out agreed database maintenance (using SQL toolsets) and administration tasks for both legacy and future projects.
• Installation and setup of database instances to support customers.
• Installation and configuration of SQL Server
• Legacy SQL versions from 2008R2 to 2022.
• Experience with PowerBI \ SQL Server Reporting Services
• Knowledge of SQL Server Analysis Services (both OLAP and Tabular) and SQL Server Integration Services
• Previous experience with Indexes, index statistic updating & index optimisation, Capacity planning and Query Optimisation & Query Execution Plans
• Experience with PowerShell scripting
• Designing and implementing SQL systems to a specific set of requirements.

Desirable Skills:

• An underlying technical understanding of the Unix operating environment would be advantageous.
• Operating SQL Server in VMware virtualisation environment
• Previous experience working with ERP Systems
