Job description

Job role - Platform Systems Administrator

Permanent, full-time position. Operating a hybrid working policy, 1 day a week in the office (located in Surrey)

This is a newly created job role as result of growth and joins an established SysOps team at an exciting time for the business.

Reporting into the Head of Technology, we are looking for an experienced System Administrator to support the management and maintenance of the existing environment.

The company adopts a hybrid environment utilising AWS, Azure and on-prem set up and you will have the opportunity to influence the tech used going forward as part of your role. This is a visible position and joins a business that encourages those to have an input in decision making, whilst they are agile enough to implement new ideas.

In order to be successful you will need to possess a strong technical knowledge and experience as a Linux Systems Administrator in a Web Environment, as well as proven experience working with AWS.

You will be tasked with, but not limited to,:

  • Configuration/Management of Linux Hosted Nodes services Apache/HAProxy
  • Configuration/Management of Linux Nodes ( Debian/Ubuntu Server )
  • Configuration/Management of Windows servers
  • Configuration/Management of Elastic Search environment.
  • Scripting tools and Processes in the following Languages PHP / Bash / PowerShell
  • Management and maintenance of cloud-hosted Docker Swarm and AWS ECS Services.
  • Deployment of AWS Services.
  • Creation of AWS Security profiles.
  • Manage CI Pipeline and Deployments through Azure DevOps.

Within this job role you will be facing off into and supporting closely the Development team, therefore you will have excellent communication skills and the ability to interact cross-functionally.
