Overview of Responsibilities / Skills:

Looking for an experienced and high performing RF Engineer to join a successful Assured Position, Navigation and Timing (APNT) team within the Global Sensors Mission Area, creating RF GPS/GNSS Anti-Jam Systems for the military market. This is a creative and stimulating role offering development opportunities and the chance to work alongside our highly skilled technical team.

The RF Hardware Engineer will be able make their mark on a broad and varied range of product designs and will be expected to assist in the integration of these designs into product being the focal point for the complete solution. They will have the opportunity to support engineering solutions, overseeing the integration of contributions from all other engineering disciplines - including systems, hardware, mechanical, software, safety and reliability. Above all, this is the ideal opportunity for a self-starting RF Hardware Engineer who wants to work on exciting technology and product development projects in a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will have demonstrated competence in RF product design for challenging environments and design for high volume techniques.

Experience needed:

  • Minimum of Degree in related subject, preferably in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • In depth experience in design and layout of RF and analogue micro circuitry and micro integration into products for harsh environments and hostile EM conditions.
  • Good knowledge of product design and problem solving within a design for manufacture environment.
  • Experience in full system design lifecycle and ability to take an overall systems view.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and customer interfacing skills.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK, Europe and the US.

Desirable:

  • Experience of interpretation of customer specs and end use environments
  • Experience in design for manufacture for high volume product.
  • Analytical engineer who can process data efficiently to provide solutions to problems and communicate the outcomes at all levels.
  • Experience with interfacing to RF circuitry and high-speed D/A /A/D conversion
  • Experience using the Mentor Graphics tool suite; xDxX Designer, Constraints Editor, HyperLynx tools such as Signal Integrity & Power Analyser or equivalents would be advantageous.
  • Proven analytical skills in circuit simulation (MATLAB, LT Spice)) and thermal analysis.
  • Product Quality Testing and Certification.
  • Experience of working with Industry standard toolsets for requirement capture, design and task management (e.g., DOORs, Microsoft Project).
