The Principal Mechanical Engineer will support the mechanical development lifecycle consisting of requirements analysis, detailed design, implementation, test and verification in order to deliver mechanical components and subassemblies into our designed products.

You will be able to assist and support the deployment and through-life maintenance of mechanical systems in service. Conduct mechanical design engineering activities, either alone on a small project or as part of a larger project team, adhering to Engineering Function processes or project specific tailoring of those processes.

Naturally, you would act as a team player who recognises the impact of your own performance and behaviour in the wider team.

Experience needed:

• Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience
• Experience in design and documentation using MCAD PLM and ERP tools (Creo, Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks, Windchill and IFS)
• Experience in Environmental & Thermal Analysis and Reporting, using in-CAD FEA tools, standalone FEA tools and hand calculations.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders/customers/suppliers on a regular basis
• Ability to write technical reports or plans and present information to line manager, project management team and peers.

Desirable:

• Experience in the Defence / Aerospace or safety regulated environment would be advantageous.
• Experience in CREO , Windchill
