Job description

Role Specification

Specific Accountabilities:

• Responsible for preparation of detailed design, feasibility studies and scheme reports on a variety of projects.
• Responsible for schemes, Project Management and Budgeting
• Producing Bill of Quantities and costings.
• Support team members

General Responsibilities:

• Ensure the scheme design complies with the specification and agreed programme.
• Ensure designs comply with health and safety regulations and CDM requirements.
• Ensure designs are assessed for environmental impacts.
• Liaison with client, stakeholders and third parties.
• Liaise and manage other team members associated with the design.

Person Specification

Core Competencies:

• A sound knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and Manual for Streets.
• Experience of design and managing the Section 278/38 process.
• Ability to engage and conduct effective negotiations with client, stakeholders, subcontractors and third parties.
• A detailed understanding of Health & Safety legislation
• Competent in a 3D modelling package

Desirable Competencies:

• Competent user of Civils 3D
