We are seeking an engineer with experience in the traffic and highways field to work on a variety of traffic design projects in London. These projects can range from: Active Travel, Green Space, Construction and Cycle Scheme.

Job description

The Job:

• Support the engineering service function in the delivery of highways design and civil engineering support for a range of highways related design projects.
• Provide support and project related task management for junior staff and to undertake technical tasks assigned by project managers and senior manager.
• To have financial and commercial awareness of project delivery to ensure tasks are delivered within fixed time limits and to a high standard of quality.
• The role requires a detailed knowledge of highways and traffic engineering and the ability to assist to develop schemes from inception through to completion.
• Day to day supervision and management of junior staff and assistant engineers, along with co-ordination of project delivery where other design teams or service areas are involved.

Ideal Experience:

• Degree or equivalent
• Experience within Highways (ideally at least 2 years)
• Working towards professional membership ICE/CIHT
• Technical knowledge of highways engineering
• Expert CAD user
• Civils 3D user (ideal)
• Experience in professional discipline
• Skills and experience in people management
• Knowledge and experience of financial management.
