Role: BIM Engineer
Location: Bath (Hybrid working)
Working pattern: Monday-Friday, flexible working hours available (core hours 10am-3pm)
Salary: Circa £35,000-£45,000 (negotiable depending on experience)

Job Description

One of our clients are looking for a BIM Engineer to join their Digital Engineering department. The successful candidate will be implementing BIM technology to assist in the construction design process. This position will give you the chance to play a key role in expanding and developing our clients BIM capability in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

The role would perfect for an experienced engineer with a degree in civil, structural or mechanical engineering.

The candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills, technical problem-solving abilities, leadership skills.

Qualifications or experience in an engineering design environment would be preferred. Water, 3D modelling and drawing in a BIM environment would also be advantageous, but not essential.


Job Responsibilities


Specific Responsibilities will include:

  • Delivery of 3D models and drawings on water and wastewater treatment sites.
  • Advanced use of Revit and AutoCAD to create, audit and review designs and third party information.
  • Managing Point Cloud and other survey information from third party surveyors.
  • Liaising with designers, consultants and suppliers to enable project coordination.
  • Providing inputs for key design and deliverables.
  • Input into model and drawing procedures
  • Working within the Wessex Water drawing and modelling guidelines
  • Manage / Update BIM Project Documents within BIM360
  • 3D model quantity extraction / verification and scheduling.


Role Requirements

As a BIM Engineer you will need to be highly organized, detail-oriented, hardworking and have the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The successful candidate will possess excellent verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all organizational levels.

Specific requirements include:

  • Degree/HND in Civil, Mechanical or Structural Engineering
  • Experience delivering projects in a BIM environment.
  • Experience delivering projects using Autodesk products such as Revit, AutoCAD Navisworks and ReCap or similar Bentley products.
  • Experience working in a common data environment and managing BIM data throughout a project lifecycle.
  • Understanding key principles on information management as per BS EN ISO 19650
  • Experience adopting to design changes and new technologies.
  • Experience conducting design review and co-ordination meetings.
  • Knowledge of industry standards including CDM & design risks and the ability to translate to CAD.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidiscipline and diverse team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
