Job description
You will be involved in the Welding/fabrication of Aluminium for marine craft. Previous MIG Aluminium experience is essential. A sound knowledge of working practices in marine environment or similar, preferably on smaller craft/ You will be capable of working to a consistent high standard and work well within mixed trade teams.
Day to day duties:
MIG Aluminium welding
Aluminium fabrication to high quality standards
Mainly 1.5mm to 6mm sheet aluminium work
Ability to set up and operate light industrial machinery / hand tools
Attention to engineering and quality standards essential
All candidates will have to be Lloyds coded and will spend time in the test bays beforehand. The amount of time in the bays will be determined by experience and level of welding
Role requirements:
You must have completed an appropriate apprenticeship.
MIG Aluminium would be an advantage too
Be flexible and adaptable to all types of work
Understand and work to the requirements of the Health and Safety and Environmental legislation Act
Have experience of working in a continuous improvement environment and be willing to make an active contribution to the process / team
Rates of pay:
PAYE
Standard - £18.26/h plus £2.20/h holiday accrual
Weekday OT - £24.29/h plus £2.93/h holiday accrual
Weekend OT - £27.39/h plus £3.37/h holiday accrual
Umbrella Co (relevant deductions to be made by the approved payroll provider)
Standard - £24/h
Weekday OT - £31.67/h
Weekend OT - £36.72/h
Hours - Standard 40 hour week with weekday and weekend OT available
