Technical Author
6m Contract | Dorset - Hybrid
Our Client is looking for a Technical Author to create and manage all information artefacts that are required to support the development, operation and maintenance of the System.
- This includes all information assets that will need to be provided to/ received from the organisations that provide support in the development, operation and maintenance of the System, and therefore interfaces with the Enterprise Systems.
- Includes a series of repositories, that are accessible, to provide information artefacts for the current baseline(s) including, but not limited to; technical publications; equipment schedules; platform installation designs; knowledge articles and safety notices to support the development, maintenance and operation of the system.
Skills & Requirements
- Extensive experience in the areas listed above under key activities
- A good understanding of technical source data for systems, sub-systems and Line Replaceable Items/Units (LRU/Is) for generation of technical descriptions for inclusion into relevant technical publications Data Modules (DMs)
- Knowledge and experience of:
- Technical Publications specifications e.g. S1000D, Def Stan 00-601
- S1000D Standard Numbering Systems SNS
- Generation and maintenance of a Data Module Requirements List (DMRL)
- Technical authoring processes and techniques using industry proprietary software tools e.g. WebX UltraAuthor CSDB
- Knowledge and experience of XML Data Module technical authoring
- Technical Publications/IETP/CSDB Configuration Management processes
Key Activities:
- Request, gather and assess the required source info from equipment suppliers
- Develop and implement the delivered publications database
- Create and maintain the Technical Data Management Plan
- Create and maintain the Data Modules Requirements List
- Provide data modules consistent with the publications database
- Update all publications (including technical drawings) as required
- Produce new IETPs and/or AESPs as necessary
