Job summary
We require an Environmental specialist with experiecne working in the Rail industry to work on Netowrk Rail projects. Our client is looking to fill similar roles in Manchester, Birmingham and Ruby.

Key Skills & knowledge

- Demonstrable experience and application of environmental legislation;
- Appropriate membership of a professional environmental institution e.g. IEMA
- Demonstrable awareness and application of NR/L2/ENV/015
- Considerable experience (5+ years) delivering environmental compliance and positive environmental outcomes in the construction sector
Role Description
-
- The supplier shall provide expert, ad-hoc, environmental and social support to NW&C Route teams;
- The supplier shall provide level 2 assurance of environmental documentation and site-based activities produced and undertaken by teams concerned with the delivery of projects and operational maintenance works;
- The supplier shall support the delivery of national environmental and sustainability initiatives in the fields of biodiversity & ecology, waste management and resource efficiency, carbon reduction and energy efficiency and, weather resilience and climate change adaptation;
- The supplier shall support local and national procurement tasks such as producing tender questions and reviewing and scoring responses;
- The supplier shall support the production and national, regional and local strategies;
- The suppler shall support the production and revision of national sustainability related strategies, considering the interests and impacts on NW&C region;
- The supplier shall undertake analysis of environmental incidents or other environmental data, such as waste recycling figures, to identify trends and means of remediation;
The supplier shall design, produce and deliver briefings and training on the above environmental subjects.
