Description:
Working as an integral member of the WTG Package team, the WTG Deputy Supply Manager shall assist in the management of WTG manufacturing and testing activities for the projects initially, up to delivery at the WTG marshalling harbour, as defined within the key accountabilities of this role. A key interface for the role will be pre-construction activities at the WTG marshalling harbour. The successful candidate will have the proven skills necessary to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all WTG supply activities safely executed and in accordance with contract requirements.
Key Accountabilities
Role and Responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the management of the manufacture, testing and supply of WTG towers, nacelles, blades and associated equipment to the WTG marshalling harbour by the WTG Contractor.
- Support safety management of Tier 1 WTG Contractor
- Pro-active Risk Management of WTG supply activities
- Assist in the coordination of resources for Factory Acceptance Tests and First Article Inspections
- Work closely with the Employer Representatives at tower, nacelle and blade manufacturing facilities
- Work closely with the marshalling harbour Employer Representatives for load-in activities
- Report to the WTG Supply Manager on the status of WTG supply, including readiness of facilities, manpower level, training, supervision and production metrics.
Kowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential:
- We are looking for someone who has offshore wind turbine experience and is proactive by nature.
- HND or degree qualified in an engineering or manufacturing discipline.
- Demonstrable experience and understanding of WTG technology and manufacture.
- Demonstrable experience and understanding of quality management related to manufacturing.
- Experience of working collaboratively with Employers and Contractors.
- Good communication skills and ability to build and maintain effective relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrable understanding of Project documentation arrangements, including Contractor documentation deliverables.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel offsite as project / program needs determine.
- Strong ethos relating to Health Safety and Wellbeing.
Desirable:
- Membership of a relevant professional body.
- Relevant experience in offshore wind through all phases of a project.
- Knowledge of the full project life cycle stage / gate principles of project delivery.
- Understanding and appreciation of the principles and standards relating to Health, Safety, Quality and Environment as applicable to working within a highly regulated environment.
