Tree Surveyor - Ash dieback Disease

Introduction

My client based in the South West region is looking for two Tree Surveyor's focused on the Ash dieback disease. This is an original 3 month contract with a view to possible extension.

IR35 status:

• This role is INSIDE IR35

Job Description

• To undertake a survey of ash trees to determine to what extent (if any) they are displaying the signs of Ash Dieback Disease.
• To plot trees on GIS maps of both individual trees and woodland areas
• For woodland fringe areas (fall zone), tag the tree with a tree tag number.

• To record the survey on a tablet PC (provided by BCC) into the CONFIRM database so that the health condition of the tree can be compared in the following year(s). Take a photo of the tree using the tablet PC as part of the survey

Key Responsibilities

So far as is reasonably practicable, the post holder must ensure that safe working practices are adopted by employees and in premises/work areas for which the post holder is responsible to maintain a safe working environment for employees and service users. These are defined in the Corporate Health, Safety and Welfare Policy, departmental policies and codes of practice. Work in compliance with the Codes of Conduct, Regulations and policies of the City Council. To model and promote good equalities practice and value diversity across the service. Ensure that output and quality of work is of a high standard and complies with current legislation / standards. Ensure that all mandatory training is undertaken as required. For example - Bristol City Council's Induction, Health and Safety, Equalities, Safeguarding Children and Safeguarding Adults. Please note - this is not a comprehensive list.

Working conditions / Environment:

• Required mainly on site, completing surveys in and around the Bristol area.

Working hours:

• 37 Hours Per Week
• Monday to Friday

Pay rates:

• Flexible dependant on experience.
• Weekly pay
