Tree Surveyor - Ash dieback Disease

Introduction

My client based in the South West region is looking for two Tree Surveyor's focused on the Ash dieback disease. This is an original 3 month contract with a view to possible extension.

IR35 status:

  • This role is INSIDE IR35

Job Description

  • To undertake a survey of ash trees to determine to what extent (if any) they are displaying the signs of Ash Dieback Disease.
  • To plot trees on GIS maps of both individual trees and woodland areas
  • For woodland fringe areas (fall zone), tag the tree with a tree tag number.
  • To record the survey on a tablet PC (provided by BCC) into the CONFIRM database so that the health condition of the tree can be compared in the following year(s). Take a photo of the tree using the tablet PC as part of the survey

Key Responsibilities

  • So far as is reasonably practicable, the post holder must ensure that safe working practices are adopted by employees and in premises/work areas for which the post holder is responsible to maintain a safe working environment for employees and service users. These are defined in the Corporate Health, Safety and Welfare Policy, departmental policies and codes of practice.
  • Work in compliance with the Codes of Conduct, Regulations and policies of the City Council.
  • To model and promote good equalities practice and value diversity across the service.
  • Ensure that output and quality of work is of a high standard and complies with current legislation / standards.
  • Ensure that all mandatory training is undertaken as required. For example - Bristol City Council's Induction, Health and Safety, Equalities, Safeguarding Children and Safeguarding Adults. Please note - this is not a comprehensive list.

Working conditions / Environment:

  • Required mainly on site, completing surveys in and around the Bristol area.

Working hours:

  • 37 Hours Per Week
  • Monday to Friday

Pay rates:

  • Flexible dependant on experience.
  • Weekly pay
