Job description
Do you have a passion for seeing your creations come to life? If you are looking for a new challenge then we could have just the opportunity for you. We are looking for experienced and talented Design Engineers to join our small, cohesive teams, working on challenging projects in a fast paced environment.
You will be responsible for the design and detail of gearbox components and complete transmission systems, using the NX 3D CAD system, which you will see develop from design to the race track! The duties of this role include the creation of engineering drawings, provide guidance to the Commercial Function and Manufacture Project Managers and working as part of the core Engineering team.
As a successful candidate, you will ideally be qualified to a minimum of BEng or BSc degree level, or equivalent, in either Mechanical, Automotive or Aerospace Engineering. Having a minimum of 3 years post graduate experience in a design engineering environment, you should be a competent CAD user, preferably Siemens NX & TeamCenter 10 PLM. Previous Motorsport or Automotive experience and experience of designing rotating metal components are preferable.
You will have excellent organisational and IT skills (particularly Microsoft Office) and your experience to date will have equipped you with knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, controls and quality standards, together with ERP systems.
With a high level of autonomy and influence within your team, success of projects will depend on your excellent communication skills, specifically to liaise closely with customers and to forge good working relationships throughout Xtrac.
Just like the teams we design for, our employees work hard and fast so you will need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a pressurised, and ever changing environment with the ability to manage and prioritise your own workload. We require initiative, flexibility and enthusiasm to achieve the challenging targets of our projects.
