Job description

This role will provide you with excellent career progression opportunities, have the ability to work on a site, which has been rebuilt recently with the latest manufacturing equipment, work on a top-tier manufacturing site and be given full training to develop your skills within the business.

Your main responsibilities as a Maintenance Technician will involve:

  • Complying with all applicable safety rules, policies and procedures
  • Planned preventative maintenance activities on plant and equipment
  • Fault diagnosis and repair of plant and equipment
  • Recording details of breakdowns and repairs where necessary to facilitate further analysis
  • Carrying out planned maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair on the mechanical systems associated with any of the above
  • Providing on-site support on a rotating 2 shift basis
  • Working alone or as part of a multi-disciplined team
  • Taking account for your own work and in some instances will be required to work alongside specialist contractors
  • Participating in reliability centred maintenance activities, including root cause analysis and continuous improvement

Your skills and qualifications:

  • Mechanical Time served Apprenticeship
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification and experience within a Mechanical discipline
  • Experience of bench fitting skills including use of hand tools
  • Knowledge of fault finding of mechanical machinery
  • Understanding of power press/clutch systems would be beneficial
  • Experience with reactive and planned maintenance of high volume production equipment
  • Knowledge and experience of fault finding with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Understanding of various mechanical power transmission (e.g. bearings, belts, chains, mechanical couplings etc.)
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics, hydraulic & pneumatic drawings
  • Knowledge of instrumentation control of hydraulic, pneumatic, temperature and chemical process
