We are looking for a Production Manager who will be responsible for managing and directing all manufacturing activities to ensure completion of customer requirements
Job description
The production Manager is responsible for the overall management of production at the Lakeside facility, including responsibility for leading manufacturing teams to meet the agreed financial and strategic goals, product quality, product cost, and employee safety through the framework of the Eaton Business System. It will require coordination with all functional and service groups to meet customer requirements and leverage resources to motivate personnel to create a high-performance culture.
This position is expected to play an active role in supporting Eaton LEAN/ Six Sigma process deployment, training and mentoring at the plant level and the implementation of LEAN strategy, which will drive improvements in factory margins, product delivery performance, employee safety and reductions in product/process variation.
Key Deliverables:
- Manages and directs all manufacturing activities to ensure completion of customer requirements
- Assesses performance indicators, and takes appropriate actions, to ensure schedule, cost, and quality goals are met
- Ensures required documentation and/or system transactions are executed to meet customer, manufacturing system, and financial reporting requirements
- Assures policies, procedures, and other documentation are followed to ensure consistent and compliant manufactured product
- Provides leadership and commitment in support of continuing improvements in quality, productivity and delivery performance
- Supports product design organization through new product introduction phase to ensure customer manufacturing delivery times are met
- Champion a culture change within the workforce of teamwork, employee engagement, and continuous improvement for each of the product value streams.
- Drive continuous improvement through EBS, Eaton Lean Six Sigma and the Continuous Improvement Framework
- Effectively manage plant assets through leadership of maintenance and facilities resources.
- Achieve labor productivity, reduction of overtime and lead cost reduction efforts to drive factory cost out.
- Manage site capital planning and execution processes.
- Champion implementation of MESH to achieve improvement in year over year safety performance measures.
- Train and develop the operations supervisors.
Skills:
- Thorough understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (Six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to materials management
- Knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements
- Ability to direct and lead cross-functional process improvement teams
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure and deadlines
- Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts (production planning, scheduling, inventory control, Kanban systems etc)
- APICS CPIM Certified preferred.
- Experience working in an Aerospace, Automotive or mechanical engineering manufacturing industry.
