Job description
You will be responsible for supporting the Programme Delivery Lead and Product Owner to ensure that team meets its shared objectives and that work and work products are both properly configured.
- Creation and delivery of system and architectural artefacts
- Definition, development and assessment of concepts
- Stakeholder engagement workshops
- System requirements development and management
- System integration, test, evalution and acceptance definition
- Providing guidance and mentoring to other engineers
- Completion of ad-hoc (architecture related) project tasking
As part of the engineering team you will work closely with team members, and support the team and/or project leadership in daily activities. You may also be asked to lead teams.
Your skills and qualifications as a Systems Engineer:
Competence in:
A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant qualifications/experience
Understanding of
- C2 Systems
- Communications and Networking
- Security Architectures
- Engineering Lifecycle
- Physical and Electrical Safety, Security and Environmental compliance
- MOD and industry standard acceptance processes
What we're looking for in you:
Ability to work in a changing and evolving environment
- Experience developing architectures and models into solution architectures and systems design
- Experience in use of one or more of the following frameworks: NAF, MODAF, TOGAG, ArchiMate and SysML
- Experience with standard architectural modelling tools e.g. Model Based System Engineering (MBSE), Sparx EA, MooD, CAMEO, Capella.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to communicate technically with Engineering teams and the customer
Advantage:
- Experience of aircraft systems
- Defence industry/military experience in one or more domains: Land, maritime, Air, Cyber and Space
- A background in systems and/or software design and development.
- Understanding of Requirements process and associated tools, e.g. DOORS, ArchiMate, TOGAF, Certification
- Experience of communications systems and sensing systems
- Some experience of working in an Agile environment
- SC Security clearance, ideally DV clearance (or clearable to these levels)
