Job description
In this role, you will be a leader in the deployment of APQP (Advance Product Quality Planning) in order to achieve the best quality standards and satisfy our internal objectives and our customer requirements. You will be involved in the full product lifecycle of landing gear design, manufacture and support interacting with multiple sites and customers.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* APQP Pilot and coach for multi-functional teams within engineering and production
* Introduce APQP tools to improve legacy production processes and controls
* Conduct quality investigations into events linked to the design of our products
* Supporting cross Quality topics such as improvement initiatives
* Conduct audits in the frame of SLS Design and Production Approvals (EASA Part 21J / 21G and customer delegations) and support internal teams in thorough root cause analyses and deployment of corrective actions
* Participate in the preparation and realization of engineering reviews
* Facilitate Design, Product and Process FMEA, Critical Items identification and events causal analysis
* Collaborating with the industrial development teams and supporting the transition between the Design and Industrial development phases
* Participating and facilitating Customer Reviews of Development Quality & APQP activities and associated KPIs
* Contribute to the identification and taking into account of lessons learnt across the business
What do you need from me?
* You will have worked in a highly regulated industry, to include aerospace, automotive nuclear, Oil & Gas or similar
* Ability to read complex engineering drawings and specifications
* An understanding of root cause analysis techniques (8D, Ishikawa, 5WHY)
* Awareness of Industrialisation process
* Awareness of engineering and manufacturing principles and processes
* Qualification - apprenticeship/HNC/degree
It would be advantageous if candidates also had:
* Engineering background such as Design, Analysis or Product Support
* Understanding of aerospace QMS and regulatory requirements (EASA Part 21J/G)
* Auditor or Lead Auditor qualifications and experience
* Strong Landing System's product and process knowledge
