Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary team, who are dedicated to bringing new energy infrastructure products to the market and lead game-changing technology development. Depending upon your experience you could join at either Engineer or Principal level and will work within our Transformer and Electromagnetics workstream.
You will have exciting opportunities in new product development from concept generation to detailed design and prototype build, you will also contribute on technical problem solving and continuous product improvement. Functions will be developed with some autonomy but guided by established policies and review of end results. The job also allows modification of procedures and practices covering work to ensure results meet standards of acceptability (quality, timeliness etc.).

This is your role:
Contribute new ideas for innovation and technical design and review existing designs to identify areas of improvement.
Use technical experience and analytical thinking to solve complex technical and electrical issues.
Develop reliable new concepts, including feasibility study and technical proposal with focuses on transformer design and operation.
Define, review and ensure compliance of internal and external technical standards.
Addressing the configuration of electrical apparatus and systems, especially of power electronics devices, switchgear, transformers, bus bars, cables, non-conducting materials and comprehensive system integration concepts.
Use some judgment and have the ability to propose different solutions, be an outside-the-box thinker. Use internal and external sources outside of your immediate team to arrive at and support implementation of your decisions.
Be proactive and act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
Lead internal department development projects.

What we are looking for:
Have a degree in Electrical Engineering. Master's degree or higher education is desirable.
Show passionate interest in Transformers and Electromagnetics
2-3 years of experience in similar roles, someone who wants to learn and progress professionally.
Ability to analyse complex engineering problems, from both technical and commercial viewpoints, to identify and deliver pragmatic solutions.
Hands-on experience for electromagnetic and electrical design calculation - this will require using in-house simulation software, hand calculations, etc.
In-depth knowledge of transformers, their technical challenges, materials, manufacturing and testing processes.
Familiarity with a variety of Industry Standards, i.e. IEC, IEEE, ENA, NEMA.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Capable of collaborating effectively, understanding the value of "team" and having strong personal organization skills.
Ability to travel when required.
